Culper Precision 6 SHOT Show 2020
So, you thought your Glock 19 was too heavy for carry? Well, welcome the Atomic 6 from Culper Precision. First, let’s talk about the price of this. For the complete slide alone you’re looking at $1,500. For a whole Atomic 6 pistol, you’re looking at $2,000. Now, you might be wondering why this costs so much, so, let’s talk about it.
First off, the slide is based on the Gen 4 Glock 19, not the Gen 3. It’s also designed to work flawlessly with the Nomad 9 Gen 4 Frame; yeah I can hear the sighs of relief. Gen 3 is so early 2000s. Jokes aside, the slide is made out of stainless steel and -co-cured carbon fiber. In turn, the slide only weighs in at 7 ounces full assembled, and the gun you see only weighs 17 ounces which makes it 4 ounces lighter than a standard G19.
Don’t worry, you aren’t only paying for 4 ounces of weight reduction. The slide comes milled for the Trijicon RMR and has an accompanying plate w/ titanium screws if you don’t run one. You also get your choice of Trijicon suppressor height nights sights or HD night sights. Honestly, there’s a lot more that goes into this gun that I just can’t get to including ZEV Pro upper parts, a match grade barrel, etc. For more you can check out their website here.
Overall, pretty interesting gun, and I’m real happy to see the aftermarket starting to pick up the slack that’s existed for a while for the Gen 4 Glocks.
